These prepare international students for linguistic integration into the Canadian English speaking community. Also, to help our international students improve their TOEFL test-taking skills; FutureSkills offers both TOEFL preparation courses and one-on-one tutoring. Student visa services are also available.

Mature Students

At FutureSkills we welcome mature students, recognizing their requirement for a more flexible, independent form of learning. For these individuals we recommend our fast track or online learning options. These alternatives allow time for responsibilities of work and family.

Online Learning

For those students who are unable to attend classes and/or tutoring sessions, FutureSkills offers a variety of e-learning. These Internet based courses enable students to complete accredited high school courses from the convenience of their homes.

Co-op

Co-op courses can be arranged for students who want to explore a career in a specific field. These credits offer a valuable learning experience in assisting students to choose a career path that is right for them. This unique experience will also be highly beneficial in helping students set and achieve academic goals.

Tutoring/Computer Training

In addition to our classes, one-on-one tutoring sessions with qualified teaching staff are available six days a week. These sessions are run on customized lesson plans, adapted to student’s needs. Our tutoring sessions help students upgrade marks and/or fast track in preparation for college or university.

Computer training is also available for those who want to either learn basic computer skills or upgrade their knowledge to stay competitive in their field.

TOEFL Preparation Course

FutureSkills offers the TOEFL Preparation Course, which helps students prepare for successful completion of the TOEFL iBT exam. The instructor helps students expand vocabulary, learn test strategies, communicate ideas, enhance writing, grammar, reading and listening skills.

Being an accredited TOEFL test center, we can help our students to both prepare for, and to take, their TOEFL exam at our institution.

Non-academic

Volunteer hours: To receive their OSSD, high school students must have a minimum of 40 volunteer hours. FutureSkills works closely with our students to track their progress in this area.

School trips: School trips and events are organized throughout the year to keep our students aware of the world outside the classroom environment. These include outings to the Science Centre, the Scarborough Bluffs, the Imax Theatre, the University of Toronto and holiday parties.)

Post-Secondary Education

Over 90% of our full-time students go on to post-secondary education. Many gain admission to the institution of their choice, whether college, university or apprenticeship programs. Our students have won

numerous scholarships.  A select few received the Queen Elizabeth II Aiming for the Top Scholarship.

For students interested in one-on-one tutoring, day, night, or summer credit courses, e-learning, tutoring sessions or TOEFL preparation/examination, FutureSkills offers students a flexible schedule designed to accommodate differing needs.

Our location offers easy access from all areas of the city. At FutureSkills, our dedicated teaching staff will guide students along their educational path towards the completion of their OSSD and the advancement to post-secondary education.
