International Students

FutureSkills High School has an extensive base of international students. We offer a range of ESL courses (ESLAO, ESLBO, ESLCO, ESLDO, ESLEO), which prepare our international students for their linguistic integration into the Canadian English speaking community. In order to help our international students improve their TOEFL test-taking skills, FutureSkills offers both TOEFL preparation courses and private one-to-one tutoring. Student visa services are also available as required.

TOEFL Preparation Course

FutureSkills High School offers the TOEFL Preparation Course which helps test takers acquire the skills and strategies needed to successfully complete the TOEFL iBT exam. The instructor helps students expand their vocabulary, learn test strategies and communicate their ideas, while enhancing writing and grammar skills. The course also focuses on developing reading and listening skills. Being an accredited TOEFL test center, our students have the convenience of both preparing for and taking their TOEFL exam at our institution.

Mature Students

We also accept mature students and recognize that they may require a more flexible and independent style of learning. We recommend our fast tracking or online learning options so they have more time to fulfill their responsibilities to work and family.

Online Learning

For those students who are unable to attend classes and/or tutoring sessions, FutureSkills High School offers e-learning through a variety of online courses. Internet based courses allow students to complete accredited high school credits from the comfort of their home.

Co-op

Co-op courses are also available for those students who want to explore a potential career in the field of their choice. These credits offer a unique experience and can be a valuable learning tool in assisting students with choosing a career path that is right for them and setting academic goals for themselves in order to achieve it.

Tutoring/Computer Training

In addition to our classes, our one-to-one tutoring sessions with qualified teaching staff are available seven days a week in a variety of subjects and provide students with customized lesson plans which are highly effective in upgrading students' marks and/or fast tracking in preparation for college and university.

Computer training is also available for those who want to either learn basic computer skills or upgrade their knowledge to stay competitive in their field.

Volunteer Hours

FutureSkills High School understands that there is more to achieving an education than what is learned in textbooks. Forty volunteer hours are required to receive an OSSD, and FutureSkills works closely with our students to track their progress in this area. School trips and events are also organized throughout the year to keep our students aware of the world outside the classroom. These include outings to the Science Centre, the Scarborough Bluffs, the Imax Theatre, the University of Toronto and holiday parties to celebrate the cultural and religious diversity of our students.

Post-Secondary Education

Over 95% of our students go on to post-secondary education and gain admission to the institution of their choice whether it be college, university or apprenticeship programs. Students in the past have won numerous entrance scholarships and a select few, who have received outstanding academic excellence, have received the Queen Elizabeth II Aiming for the Top Scholarship.

For students interested in one-on-one tutoring, day credit courses, night credit courses, summer credit courses, e-learning, tutoring classes and TOEFL preparation/examination, FutureSkills Private High School offers students a flexible, convenient location and a dedicated teaching staff that will guide them on their way towards the completion of their OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) and prepare them for post-secondary education.
